Services

The Wellington Recreation Commission provides a number of services to the residents of Wellington and its surrounding areas including, but not limited to the following:

Birthday/Party Service
We have several value-packed, reasonably-priced party packages available with customizable options to make it exactly what you want, but with the added benefits of the hassle and mess staying with us!  So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the celebration!

Building Rentals

The Recreation Center, Memorial Auditorium, Armory, and the McKinley building may be reserved and rented.  Consider these possibilities when planning your group's meeting, celebration, retreat, or event!

Please see the Facility Rentals Section for more information.

Batting Cages
Improve your hitting skills in the off-season by using batting cages at the Armory.  Ballscreens, pitching machines, and balls will be provided.  Two cages are available for use per person per hour.  Call the WRC for scheduling.

Golden Chain Club
If you are looking for a good game of cards, fun, and conversation, come to the Recreation Center each Wednesday and play the afternoon away from 1:00-4:00pm.  This is a free weekly event for senior citizens who enjoy playing pitch, pinochle, and other card games, and socializing.

WRC Kid's Club & Teen Center

The "Kid's Club" is open to kids 2nd-5th grade during the school year on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for after-school activities and fun!  IT'S FREE, TOO!

Kid's Club and Teen Center is not open during the summer.

Red Edge/Red Line
Red Edge and Red Line events are for high schoolers and middle schoolers, respectively.  These events provide action-packed entertainment, planned for teenagers by teenagers.  All Red Edge and Red Line events are sponsored by SCCDAT, the Sumner County Community Drug Action Team.

Middle School Dances
The tradition continues...dance to the latest hits, some oldies, and as always, your favorites, now with Studio 55 Bandstand!  Look out for the "Back Door Passes" available for purchase at the middle school during lunch the day of the dances or on Friday when it's a Saturday night dance!
