Program Information

From social interaction to physical well-being, the benefits of recreation are truly endless.
Programs offered by the WRC are here to provide you with a variety of recreational opportunities
that meet your needs.

Program Policies

Children Attending Class
Due to lack of proper supervision, children are not allowed to attend adult classes with their parents.

Rainy Day Procedure
The Program Director will make the decision to hold evening games if the weather conditions are questionable.  If conditions warrant cancellation of the program/game, coaches will be contacted, who will in turn let their team members know the decision.  The information will also appear on Text Caster, the Wellington Recreation Facebook page and this website.

Make-Ups
If a program meeting is missed because of reasons beyond the control of the WRC, it will not be made up.  If an individual misses a program meeting, he or she may not make up the missed class by attending a similar meeting at a different time.

Refunds
In the case where equipment or uniforms have been ordered for registration, the cost of the equipment or uniforms will not be refunded.  A complete refund will be given if the class is canceled by the WRC.  No refund will be given if persons fail to request a refund prior to the start of the class.  When a refund is issued, a $3.00 service charge will be assessed.

Program Scholarships

Because some residents are unable to participate in recreation programs due to economic hardship, the WRC provides a scholarship to reduce or waive certain fees and charges.  Applicants for scholarships are not guaranteed program registration.  All requests remain confidential.  A limited amount of funding is available for scholarships.  Please inquire about the scholarships at the WRC main office.

Registration Reminders

Sign-up Policy
Sign-ups are on a first come, first serve basis.  Many programs have a limit on the number of participants.  Once a program has filled, you may request to be put on a waiting list.  After the program has begun, a late charge will be assessed where applicable.

Waivers for Participation
Parents or legal guardian of any youth participating in a youth program must sign a waiver.  Adult programs require the participant to personally sign the waiver.

Cancellations
The WRC reserves the right to cancel any program due to low enrollments, etc.  Registered participants will receive appropriate refunds.

Nothing cancels a class quicker than waiting until the last minute to register for it.  At some point a decision must be made on whether to cancel the program due to lack of enrollment.  Please register at least 3 working days prior to the start date of the class.

Registration Deadlines
Registration deadlines are established to give a date by which you should be registered.  however, registration deadlines may be extended.  If you missed the deadline, please call 326-3323 for possible deadline extensions or enrolling with a late fee assessed.
